Joyce backs Cardigan walk for life

Mid and West Wales AM, Joyce Watson, was at Cardigan's Guild Hall last week (13 March) to help launch this year's Walk For Life campaign.

Joyce joined other local Walk For Life supporters at a busy coffee morning organised by Cardigan and District Walk For Life founder members Mair Morris and Auriol Williams.

The event will take place on Sunday, March 28, 2010 and the money raised will go towards supporting projects to help people with kidney failure and disease in Wales.

Participants will start out from Station Road at 14:00, take a circular route through the Cilgerran wildlife park and back to Station Road.

Last year, the Cardigan event, which has been going since 1998, was one of a total of 57 walks which were held across Wales, helping to raise nearly 90,00 for kidney patients in Wales. This year, Kidney Wales wants to go even further and achieve its £100,000 target.
Joyce said:

"Thanks to the support and generosity of fundraisers and supporters, and the dedication of people like Mair and Auriol, Kidney Wales raises vital funds that really help to transform the lives of hundreds of families in Wales which have been affected by kidney disease.

"Best of luck to everyone taking part and lets make Walk For Life 2010 the biggest and best yet."
