Rural Affairs Spokesperson, Joyce Watson AM and Mayor of Cardigan Town, Cllr. Linda Grace, recently visited local organic producers Aled and Hedydd Rees at their farm show sited on their farm, Trefere Fawr, in Penparc, near Cardigan. They were both very interested to see, at first hand how, the shop acts as a selling base for, not only, their excellent meat but for lots of other wonderful locally produced products.Hedydd runs the shop with daughter, Delor 13 years helping out in school holidays and daughter Mared 7years looking on.
Aled runs the farm that produces the organic meat and son Owain 10 years is very keen to carry on the family tradition of farming.
Alongside competitively priced, home produced organic meat raised on their farm, they also sell locally grown vegetables, Caws Cenarth, Aeron Preserves, Daioni dairy products, Llangoedmor honey, Dihewydd apple juice, freshly grown herbs and many other products.

“It is really fantastic to see so many local producers represented in one shop. The cooperative spirit that is involved in this enterprise is a true testament to rural life. I am particularly impressed to see whole family involvement in the business and all the family members, including the children are really proud of what they do and want to continue to produce for the local consumer.”

“I am really delighted to see local produce that can be traced from farm to fork and the community spirit that is found in the locality really lives on in this shop.”
