It was good news for the 24 students who completed the Welsh Baccalaureate as part of their studies at advanced level. They have gained what is equivalent to an A-grade at A-level or an extra 120 UCAS points when applying to university.
Principal Glyn Jones said: "The results reflect both the hard work of students and the high quality support, facilities and teaching at the college."
Director of learner services Maxine Thomas commented, "I am pleased to report that results have been matched with university requirements, so none of the students have to enter clearing."
College students will be progressing on to a broad range of classical and vocational subjects at universities throughout the UK. Popular subjects this year include business management, English, drama, music and law.
It will be celebrations tonight for Laura Watts, winner of the Joyce Watson bursary, after gaining A-grades in history, sociology and English literature.
"I'm really pleased with my results, I can now study at the best university in the UK (LSE) for social anthropology - a subject I became interested in during my course and especially after visiting Auschwitz as part of a college trip.
"After graduating I want to work for an organisation like Amnesty International."
Thanks go to Welsh Assembly Member Joyce Watson who nominated Laura for a £1,000 bursary in December as part of a four-year scheme. The money went towards paying for a laptop, attending university open days and paying for general living expenses which meant Laura could take time off work during her exams.
Joyce Watson, who studied for her A-levels as a mature student 15 years ago at Pembrokeshire College said, "I am absolutely delighted; I believe education is a gateway to people's future whether it's gaining vocational skills or academic qualifications."
