The event on Tuesday (12 May) was held in the Senedd exactly 10 years to-the-day after the Assembly first sat.
Alisha was invited as a special guest because she was born on the same day as the Assembly’s inaugural session.
Before the event, Alisha - who was accompanied by her mum and grandmother - said:
“The teacher just came into the class and told me I’d been chosen. I didn’t know much about the Assembly but my grandmother said “just think if you’re names chosen”. They’ve explained to me more about the Assembly today and I’m really looking forward to Tuesday.”
Speaking afterwards, Joyce said:
"It was an absolute delight to meet Alisha, who shares the Assembly's historic birthday. I'm pleased she's had such a lovely birthday here in Cardiff Bay.
"The event brought home just how much Wales has changed over the past 10 years. The children here today have all grown up with things like free school breakfasts and free swimming in the school holidays—and the next generation will benefit from the brand new early years 'learn through play' curriculum. All of these ‘made in Wales’ policies have been made possible by devolution.”
