Labour Assembly Member for Gwynedd JOYCE WATSON AM welcomed the proposed sale of Llanbedr airfield to Kemble Air Services as, ‘a real opportunity to breathe life into the local economy in what is a difficult economic climate.’
Mrs Watson said:
“This is a real opportunity to breathe life into the local economy in what is a difficult economic climate.
“I am very mindful of the environmental impact any developments might have within the Snowdonia national park, but I believe this new airfield will bring much-needed jobs to the area, and I understand there is strong local support for it.
“Llanbedr has until recently been a busy military facility, and I am satisfied that this less intensive use will not have an adverse effect on the conservation of the area.
“I am also pleased that the Snowdonia National Park Authority has welcomed the Assembly’s decision.”
