Joyce invited Mr Davies, of Gorslas, for lunch at the Senedd, and gave him a behind-the-scenes tour of the award-winning home of the National Assembly. Mr Davies, who was accompanied by his brother Reverend Islwyn Davies, also stayed to watch the final session of First Minister's Questions before the summer recess.
Terry Davies was awarded the MBE in the New Year's Honours list for 'Services to the Community of Gorslas', in recognition of his contributions to community life, which have spanned four decades. The investiture, in June, was made by the Prince of Wales at Buckingham Palace.
Speaking after the visit, JOYCE SAID: "Terry is an exceptional servant of Gorslas community and he thoroughly deserves this outstanding recognition.
"Terry certainly has an impressive record: from founding the local youth club, to his work to promote the Welsh language, and his services as a Community and County Councillor, he has been at the heart of Gorslas for the past four decades."
TERRY DAVIES ADDED: "Today's visit with Joyce capped off what has been a wonderful year for me, my family and for Gorslas.
"To hear Gorslas being named in Buckingham Palace was a very proud moment, one I'll never forget."
