Local AM, Joyce Watson and Nia Griffith MP visited the new Bryn school with the Assembly Minister for Education, Jane Hutt.
The visitors were met by Headteacher Rufus Evans and County Cllr Ieuan Goronwy Jones, and enjoyed a presentation by pupils from the school’s council, who highlighted how school life had changed since they had moved into the new site.
Bryn Primary School was built on the playing field of the old school in Gelli Road, Bryn, as part of Carmarthenshire County Council's £110million Modernising Education Programme.
Speaking at the event, Joyce Watson said: “It is wonderful to see how well the staff and pupils have settled into the site, and to see how enthusiastic everyone is about their new school.
“The top-of-the-range equipment, like interactive whiteboards and touch-screen TVs, make Bryn an exciting place for the children to learn."
Nia Griffith added: “The new Bryn school is definitely fit for the 21st Century and can be compared with the very best in Wales.”
