Joyce welcomes go-ahead for Rural Development Plan

Labour’s Rural Affairs Spokesperson JOYCE WATSON AM has welcomed the approval of the Rural Development Plan for Wales by The European Commission's Rural Development Committee.


The Rural Development Plan confirms EU funding of £195m as well as supporting sustainable farming and forestry, the environment and countryside, quality of life in rural areas and community-driven partnerships. The Welsh Assembly Government will oversee the investment of some £795m within rural Wales through to 2013.


JOYCE WATSON AM said: “This plan sets out a plan of action to support rural Wales, giving all of our communities the best help available.”
