Labour Assembly Member for Mid and West Wales JOYCE WATSON AM lobbied Secretary of State PETER HAIN on behalf of Remploy workers last Friday.
She went straight from a meeting of the Remploy Action Group to brief him on their discussions, and to urge the best possible result for the workers of Brynamman and Ystradgynlais.
As a result of their discussions he agreed he would ask Remploy management to look urgently at the details of the action plan which had been submitted to them.
Joyce Watson will raise this at her meeting with Guy Philips, Remploy's company secretary, this Friday.
Joyce said: “We all want the best possible result for the Remploy workers of Brynamman and Ystradgynlais.
'The action plan contains practical proposals which I want Remploy management to consider properly."
